From JustJared.com comes a couple of spy shots taken on the set of The Dark Knight Rises.

(And no you do not get a cut.)

There's some speculation as to whether or not these images are real, and I too am a little bit skeptical, even though the presence of Gary Oldman lends a sense of legitimacy to the images. Is this the actual Catwoman costume? Is it a decoy for the real one? Nobody knows.

I'm not digging the mask and combination ear-headband-goggles thing going on, but I was also strongly against Heath Ledger's Joker on first glance. We'll see how the movie turns out.

What say you, readers?

The only thing that bugs me about it are the high heels. If you're going to the trouble of finding a practical reason why her costume includes what look like cat-ears, then she should be wearing sensible shoes as well. Go hard or go home.

That being said, I could live with it, which is more than I can say for the Spider-Goatse facemask of movie!Bane.

It's true. If I recall correctly, neither the Balent Purple Suit nor the Cooke Goggle Suit costumes had high heels. Strange that comics would be MORE practical than the supposed "realism" of Nolan's live-action film.

Especially since that "realism" is the one thing that Nolan's films have done consistently well.

But aren't girls supposed to wear high heels always everywhere forever? I was under the impression that was the case. Every other Live Action incarnation of Catwoman tells me so!

I like everything except the heels. Although the combo ear/headband/goggle thing is a little off.

I protest the heels on grounds that Nolan wants his movies to be more "realistic" and heels are not realistic if we expect her to be fighting.

Strangely, I don't have much of a problem with the heels, but that probably stems from really loving the stilettos on Michelle Pfieffer in Batman Returns. Then again, it actually worked there, because it's far more likely to easily find a pair of stiletto knee high boots in 1992 than a pair of flat ones.

I'm cautiously optimistic. Anne Hathaway wouln't have been my first choice for catwoman (how can they NOT give catwoman green eyes!!) as she strucks me as more sweet than athletical or sensual. Still, she has a very sophisticated aurea that may be just right and who knows? The Joker was a far cry from Heath's usual works, but he was GREAT.
I just wish the heels were a little wider. And I do want a catwoman with cat ears, but those doesn't look right to me. Maybe in the movie they will look better *shrugs*

It's not grotesquely sexist like I feared, but there's also nothing "super" about it. Also, heels. Bleh.

Will wait and see before I judge, though.
